John Lithgow will present his solo shot, "Stories by Heart," at The Grand on Saturday evening.

Tall tales and personal anecdotes, finely spun yarns and songs will fill the cool air of downtown Jonesborough this weekend as the 38th annual National Storytelling Festival takes place, and the lineup of 19 professional tellers brings some of the finest in the world to East Tennessee.

Russell Library will host the 14th annual John W. Paton Storytelling Contest for those age 25 and older who have lived or worked in Middletown. Entry forms are available in the lobby of Russell Library, 123 Broad St.
